James is from Haven, Kansas, and is earning his degree in Marketing, with a minor in Music and a Leadership Certificate.
If you attended a music event on campus or in the community you've probably seen James; he was a member of the Marching Band, Jazz Band, Hays Symphony, Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Winds, Low Brass Ensemble, and FHSU Pep Band. If he wasn't playing, there was a good chance he was there anyway to support his fellow musicians.
"All of my professors have been great to work with, but Brad Goebel's advising really helped my degree go by like a breeze. The music department also helped get me involved on campus, keeping me motivated to finish my degree."
As a member of the Honors College, James served as a Peer Mentor and Honors Ambassador, helping to support both current students and recruiting new Tigers. He was a constant support for other students, helped others get involved on campus, and was a huge support for our program from beginning to end.
This summer he will continue to work at Hays Regional Airport, probably find a few car problems to work on, and plans to go into Aviation Marketing when he finds the right opportunity.
James is a Tiger, through and through. Though one day someone might fill his fish flops, it won't be the same without him. We wish you all the best on your path! 🐯
